Meet Our Sports Director

My name is Jose Ocasio and I am the Athletic Director at Mott Hall Charter School. I started at Mott Hall in 2015 as a paraprofessional and became a dean in 2017.  I've been working with kids my whole career, and I love every second of it.

In 2017, I started training our of Female students in Softball and a scholar named Samara asked me to start a softball team for the girls.  With the help of our Principal Ms. Lobdell, we we're able able to make it happen. Our first official year in a league we made the playoffs and finished the season with a 3-1 record in 2019. Each of those scholars continue to play and have been very successful on and off the field.  Samara, in particular, was selected to attend the MLB All Star weekend to play in the Jenny Finch softball tournament in Los Angeles.

I take pride in seeing how our scholar athletes improve on a daily basis, off on & off the field. I want every scholar to get the opportunity to unleash their potential and build their self confidence. That is my goal, to help unleash our youths potential & personal growth, through Sports.
